Michéle Terblanche
Biographical info

Michéle, who hails from a long line of dedicated gardeners, grew up in Pretoria. She studied at the University of Pretoria and the Stellenbosch University and graduated with a degree in History of Art, Languages and Psychology. After qualifying as a teacher she taught in Bonteheuwel and in at a village school in Malawi. At this stage she decided to satisfy her passion in life by studying horticulture and landscape design at the then Pretoria Technicon.

After qualifying she joined Nu-Leaf Nurseries where she produced and sold bedding plants. She next spent a decade working in the indigenous flower bulb section research unit of the Agricultural Research Council at Roodeplaat. There she specialised in plant breeding and cultivar development, as well as in the optimised production of local medicinal plants.

In 1997 Michéle started her own successful landscaping firm and has been creating remarkable gardens of all shapes and sizes ever since. Michele is able to combine rare artistic flair with wisdom, insight and a genuine love for plants and gardening.
