Tsire Mushoma grew up in Venda in the Limpopo Province.
She is the youngest of three children. Of her love of reading and books she says: “I love reading and will read just about anything if it tells a story, entertains or educates, although I enjoy reading suspense stories the most. Growing up in Venda I didn’t have a lot to read as there are no public libraries there, but my mother would buy magazines so I could have something to keep me busy. I remember when I was still in primary school I would even borrow my brother’s and sister’s literature books which were prescribed for secondary school level.”
One of her Tshivenda short stories was included in the POWA Women’s Writing Anthology in 2005 and another one included in the same anthology in 2006. Another short story, A New Beginning, was awarded fourth place in the 2007 BTA/Anglo Platinum Short Story Writing Competition. Nne na Inwi is her first novel.
Tsireledzo now lives in the Western Cape, where she works for Old Mutual doing fund valuations.
