On the banks of a river coming down in flood a woman kicks off her high-heeled Bally shoes to go to someone’s aid. Another woman wanders around a village in the Little Karoo until she is stopped by the sight of a dragonfly.
In a London tube station a poster of a lion invites the viewer to come to Africa if you “want to shift your boundaries”. Not without irony nor without humour, the stories portray journeys across physical and psychological landscapes and focus on the complexity of relationships. Moving, readable.
